The Moon - Painting

Fun Facts about the moon:

The Moon is Earths Only Natural Satellite. It orbits the Earth.

The Moon has water ( Nasa Says)

The Moon could be made from a piece of the Earth.

The Moon is the only moon that Earth has, but some planets like Jupiter have way more

The Moon has different phases depending on its position in orbit.

The Moon has heaps of craters which are holes from asteroids. Some are really deep and wide.

Task Description: Kia ora! Today I learnt some facts about the Moon and painted the Moon. It was really fun, I painted with my home class teacher Mrs Stone, Madi, Nadia and Aye Myat. It was really fun because the girls were talking about stuff that I have no idea existed, they were also very weird and laugh every minute ( A complement it was funny). It was really hard to gluing the tissues onto the paper for me. It was nice because I suck at painting so I just speed ran it and it worked out quite well because I wasn't overthinking. My favourite was cleaning my hands because it was nice having clean hands. Hopefully I paint again next term or do a big create activity like this.

He Aha?

Task Description: Hello today I learnt some words in Maori, Its really good because now I can tell people what colour there hair is in Maori.

Queen Kong has once again saved the city.

KPMG - My Experience

 KPMG - My Experience

KPMG was an amazing trip for the extension kids and other kids, here's how our trip went:
KPMG stands for Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler.
First of all for the trip (This is common sense). I of course had to find a buddy, And I just saw Waris so I pick him.

On the bus me and Waris was arguing about whos family cooks better food. Of course I won the argument.
Me and Waris were inside the infinity room and saw these adults staring at us. They explained to us what KPMG does and the work office. I really liked how they were making us really uncomfortable with there adult jokes. Once we sat down we got to pick our 7 person group and pick an random element. My group was Water, The people in water with me were Austin, Kauri, Kristopher, Candice, Waris, Milltina and Kalani.

We got to do some experiments that involved with our elements. Water did a experiments to see what ice would melt fastest, Earth made ooblak, Air did some making gas to fill up balloons and Fire did the floating spiral paper with fire.

Overall the employees were pretty chill and I did like how they explain the experiments in fun ways. The food was great and yummy.

Dazzling Decimals

              Dazzling Decimals

We are learning to add and subtract up to three decimal places

What is 244/1000 as a decimal?0.2440

What is 55/100 as decimal?0.550

What is 12/1000 as a decimal?0.1200

1.5 + 0.4 =1.9

0.6 + 0.9 = 1.5

1.7 + 2.5 = 4.2

2.7 + 0.6 = 3.3

1/10 + 0.47 = 0.48

5/100 + 0.25 =0.255

0.45 + 0.42 = 0.87

0.56 + 0.17 =0.73

0.67 + 0.91 =1.58

0.555 + 0.014 = 0.569

0.9 - 0.33 = 0.63

0.7 - 0.45 =0.35

0.55 - 0.45 =0.10

0.76 - 0.29 = 0.53

2.5 - 0.78 = 2.28

1.7 - 0.999 =0.299

0.934 - 0. 244= 0.4242

0.944 - 0. 119 =0.443

Roman Colosseum - Information Report

 Roman Colosseum - Information Report:

Colosseum Tour & Ancient Rome Tour | Through Eternity

In more ancient times of Roman, The Colosseum shone with glory, warriors clashed against beasts and combatants, thousands of viewers glared at the battle scene each day, so why is it in the state it is today?

The History:

The colosseum was built between 72 AD and 80AD, The colosseum consists of stone and concrete. The Colosseum was able to seat roughly fifty thousand people at a time and was originally called Flavian Amphitheater, however, it’s now known as The Colosseum. It was constructed by tens of thousands of jewish slaves under the rule of the Emperor Vespaisen, but Vespaisen had died before the construction of The Colosseum was finished, so it was opened by the Emperor’s son, Titus.

New7Wonders on Twitter: "The #Colosseum, home of Rome's gladiator games, is one of the #New7Wonders of the World https://t.co/zqPx3JkLzH https://t.co/oyc0HbIGIn"

The Battles:

The battles inside of the colosseum were mainly used for gladiatorial contests and the gladiators used them for animal hunts, executions, reenactments of famous battles, and dramas based on Roman Mythology, and stories. One of the tournaments lasted one-hundred days. In the colosseum, though gladiators didn’t always battle to the death, quoted by experts “roughly four-hundred-thousand warriors had died fighting for glory.”

The Modern Day Perception:

Colosseum Facts - Colosseum Rome Tickets

The colosseum is famous because it’s origin featured gladiator battles that took place during roman empires. Moreover, (Dion Cassius) claimed that nine-thousand wild creatures were slaughtered in the one-hundred days of celebration which inaugurated the amphitheatre. The Colosseum was damaged by the great earthquake of 1349 and had broken half of its stadium. The Colosseum has gained a large amount of popularity in the Modern Day, especially after Ridley Scott’s Gladiator.

Conclusion:

The Roman Colosseum is still a great influence to this day, and has amazed historians around the world, and though it’s in bad condition, it shall survive for thousands more years to fascinate millions of people.

This information report was made by myself, Austin and Aaron.

Specials thanks to Austin he was the guy who correct everything wrong me and Aaron did.
